Bridging the physical and digital for Brembo’s “Turning Energy into Inspiration” by Aymeric
strata is delighted to have had the opportunity to provide curatorial and technical support to Brembo’s Turning Energy into Inspiration digital art gala of works by Aymeric which took place at the Italian Embassy in Tokyo on 22nd October 2022. strata’s mission is to bridge the gap between the physical and digital realms in the creative economy, and this project posed a perfect opportunity to create this much-needed connection.
The title of the gala refers to Brembo’s ongoing commitment to new and universal expressive forms and innovation in both the automotive and digital art industries. With its new series of art projects featuring some of the most prominent digital artists of our time, Brembo aims to engage younger, digitally-native generations in its vision.
For Turning Energy into Inspiration, Brembo invited artist Aymeric De Meautis, a multi-disciplinary Australian artist to translate their machinery into digital art. His practice explores the mutability of form, light, and space, the gap between the substance of things and their appearance. In response to Brembo’s slogan, Aymeric created three artworks reimagining its components; energy, transformation and inspiration. The works are infinite loops created with immense attention to detail and evoking the sense of magic and metamorphosis.
The strata Creative Technology Studio team worked with the artist to produce a seamless experience for collecting the new digital artworks. strata created a link between the physical edition prints and their unique digital NFT counterparts to provide a dynamic relationship between the worlds of physical and digital art. During the event, all guests received complimentary prints with unique QR codes, which allowed them to claim corresponding NFT artworks.
strata facilitated the hybrid physical-digital experience from start to finish. The Creative Technology Studio team developed the underlining smart contract allowing visitors to claim their unique NFT editions and hold them in their blockchain wallets. Additionally, strata designed an especially-dedicated website for minting the artwork and introducing users to Web3, ensuring people at all levels of familiarity with blockchain technology can enjoy their new works.
